The splash page is a bit messy... Try to align everything (other than the splash sign) to one side. Otherwise the visitor's attention is instantly diverted to that Big Search thing. The splash sign itself is a bit plain, try to make the colour a bit brighter, or maybe a little more graphical? Neat, simple and professional. Good for you! ^^ I like the abstract effect. Good use of iframes, too. Here's what I would suggest: 1) Don't put that many updates on one page, your visitors are intrigued to know what happened most recently. Leave one or two, probably. 2) Do something about the scrollbar >.< I know scrollbar colour isn't Valid CSS, and it would make no difference for Mozilla but it's still nice to see that you can do it. 3) It's nice of you to put up a Make Poverty History web band, but are you sure this is the right site? I mean... It would suit a personal site better. I see you have a personal site. Let's just make sure it stays there. >.< 4) Don't justify-align your text! It looks weird, especially on the navigation bar. Use text-align="left" instead. 5) This is optional, but I would say the "List-Me.Com is created and maintained by..." section could go under Site Stats at the very end. Nice and to the point. Great! But try to break your updates into small paragraphs. >.< Good use of HTML, but ... Use external stylesheet! <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css"> . I assume you know how it works, right? If not, email me or find some tutorials online. Good use of Iframe, too, but you may want to consider to include some text between the <iframe></iframe> tags, like Sorry! Your browser does not support iframes. Otherwise users with non-iframe supporting browsers would just see blank. >.< This is a directory site, so I can't really comment on the content - >.< So I'll say what I would do to improve each section instead. Rules - Gee, that's hell of a lot of read before you could submit your site. People tend to get annoyed and skip it instead. So, what I would do is put the most significant ones on top, in bold or something, and make more detailed descriptions below. (See the Rules section of PD Reviews) Others - Don't put articles like ad killers with entrance to Admin panels! It just... weird. I would hide these entrances discreetly if I were you. >.< Somehow I get the impression that you type too fast, so you make considerable amount of typos. >.< Take the most recent update (5-03) for example, you keep forgeting to add the ' after things - That's, it's, etc. Also, here's what I picked out: 1) I think you mean "fanatically" not "fantatically" when it comes to your staff working hard; 2) "beingadded" need a space in between, 3) say you would "consider" instead of "considerate", 4) it "helps" not "help", 5) one of your affiliate "is" dead not "are" dead. Phew, that's a lot... But you did post it at 12:13am. So can't blame you. >.< Spell check your work in the future, though! A personal note: I just found out you run Dorkie Reviews! >.< What, testing me? ) 'Tis a good web directory, Emily! Just remember what I said, and don't be too hasty in the future when it comes to typing. Get someone to proof-read it, or at least spell check it. Good luck! ^^ |
